Tait Transport Marketing Manager John Graham has returned from attending the 17th World ITS Congress in Busan, Korea – the world's largest academic congress and exhibition in the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) field.

As part of his visit, John presented a paper entitled “A Comparison between TETRA and DMR for new ITS projects”.

“Intelligent Transport Systems are of interest to many governments as they tackle climate change, traffic congestion and improve road safety,” says John. “Significant and worldwide deployments of these technologies are expected over the next few years, so understanding the benefits of a system such as DMR for ITS projects is becoming increasingly important.”

The congress comprised a number or elements which included the presentation of over 1,200 scientific and technical papers, discussion sessions, an exhibition with over 150 exhibitors, and local technical visits. It was held over five days with an attendance level of over 4,000 people.

“It is a veritable ‘Transport Olympics’ where experts can exchange technologies and information related to ITS – all under one roof!” says John.
